JOB - Product Design Engineer
LOCATION - Northampton
TERM - Permanent
SALARY - £30,000 to £40,000 per annum (plus benefits)

Premier Engineering is working with an established engineering and manufacturing company currently looking to bring on a Product Design Engineer to join their growing team.

The Product Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• A degree or qualification in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering or a related field (BSc, BEng, MEng, HND, HNC etc.)

• Previous experience in a similar Product Design or Mechanical Design role

• Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor

• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and production techniques

• A creative and practical approach to product development

• Good understanding of prototyping and testing

• Strong communication and team collaboration skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines

The Product Design Engineer role will involve:

• Designing and developing new products from concept through to manufacture

• Producing detailed 3D CAD models and drawings

• Creating BOMs and technical documentation

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including R&D, production, and quality

• Working closely with clients or internal stakeholders to understand requirements

• Supporting prototyping, testing, and design validation activities

• Ensuring designs comply with applicable standards and regulations

• Continuously improving existing products based on feedback and performance
