JOB – Technical Sales Engineer

LOCATION – Walsall

TERM- Permanent

SALARY - £35,000-£45,000, dependent on experience and commission earnings

My client is designs and manufactured specialist metal products a variety of sectors. They are looking for a Sales Engineer to join their team in Walsall on a permanent basis.

The Sales Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • An educational or hands-on background in Engineering
  • Degree qualified or further in Engineering
  • Knowledge of ISO9001
  • Technical Engineering knowledge to understand quotations and queries
  • Previous experience supporting customers in a similar technical / sales role would be beneficial
  • Excellent customer-service skills and a passion for sales
  • Confident and driven for career progression
  • Excellent communication skills are required
  • Be self-motivated and driven
  • Be keen to develop as part of an organisation long term

The Sales Engineer role will involve:

  • Identifying, generating, maintaining and developing sales opportunities for the company
  • Account Management of existing clients
  • Upselling and developing relationships
  • Working with the Projects Team to convert client requirements into details designs and technical instructions
  • Processing purchase orders onto the MRP system
  • Excellent opportunities for training and development, with room to progress within the company
  • Providing technical support and supporting technical delivery of the company’s products and services
  • Providing after-sales support for installation and troubleshooting
  • Representing the company at exhibitions and client meetings
  • Handling queries and providing quotations to progress further sales opportunities
