Job Title: Senior Compliance Engineer
Role Overview: We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Machinery Senior Compliance Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for machinery safety inspections, offering technical support in safe machine design, and ensuring compliance with CE/UKCA marking requirements. You will also be involved in drafting and reviewing technical files, delivering training on machinery safety, and actively participating in accreditation and compliance processes.
This position requires a candidate with a strong engineering background, a passion for machinery, and a hands-on approach. The role will involve regular travel across the UK, with occasional travel abroad.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct machinery safety inspections across a variety of manufacturing sectors.
- Provide technical support on safe machine design and CE/UKCA marking requirements.
- Draft and review technical files in accordance with safety regulations and standards.
- Deliver training sessions on machinery safety to internal teams and clients.
- Participate in the accreditation and compliance processes of the Approved Body.
- Apply first-principles thinking to ensure compliance with relevant machinery safety standards.
Skills and Requirements:
- Familiarity with different and complex hazardous machinery from various manufacturing sectors.
- A strong interest in manufacturing and machinery, with a solid understanding of user requirements.
- Hands-on experience in machinery design, development, engineering management, or maintenance.
- Experience or knowledge of technical compliance processes is advantageous.
- A mechanical (or electrical) engineering degree with strong academic qualifications.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write clearly in English and interact diplomatically with clients.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and apply legal requirements and standards.
- A commitment to impartiality and ethical conduct in all aspects of the role.
Remuneration and Benefits:
- Competitive salary between £55,000 and £65,000.
