Job Title: Quality Engineer
Location: Crawley
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
An opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join an established electronics manufacturing company based in Crawley. This role is crucial in ensuring high standards of quality across manufacturing processes, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining compliance with ISO 9001 and industry-specific standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to reduce defects and improve product quality.
- Ensure adherence to IPC standards for electronics manufacturing.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality-related issues.
- Support supplier quality activities, including audits, inspections, and performance monitoring.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives within quality processes.
- Lead internal audits and support external audit preparations.
- Ensure compliance with customer quality requirements and industry regulations.
- Provide training and guidance on quality standards and best practices to staff.
Key Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Electronics, or Quality Management.
- Experience in a quality engineering role within electronics manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and IPC standards.
- Experience working in a medical, aerospace, or high-reliability electronics environment is desirable.
- Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement CAPA.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret and analyse technical documentation and engineering drawings.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
