JOB - Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION - Lincolnshire
TERM - Permanent
SALARY - £35,000 to £45,000 per annum
Premier Engineering is working with an established engineering company based in Lincolnshire. They are looking to expand their design team by hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on an exciting range of projects in special-purpose machinery and other sectors.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- A degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering (BEng, MEng, HND, HNC, etc.).
- Strong experience in mechanical design, ideally within special-purpose machinery or related fields.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, and fabrication.
- Experience with creating and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
- Designing and developing mechanical systems and components for a variety of projects.
- Creating detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software.
- Generating Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensuring designs are ready for manufacturing.
- Collaborating with the engineering and production teams to ensure project success.
- Conducting design reviews, testing, and validation of new and existing designs.
- Identifying and implementing design improvements for performance and cost efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
