Maintenance Engineer
Location - Huddersfield
Salary - £38,000-£40,000
Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer:
- Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond quickly to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Fault Finding & Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on manufacturing equipment and implement effective solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process enhancement, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements.
- Machinery Upgrades & Installation: Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, faults, and corrective actions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production teams and other departments to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Spare Parts Management: Assist in stock control and ordering of spare parts to ensure timely availability.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical components.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues under pressure.
- IT Skills: Proficiency in using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for logging maintenance work.
- Team Player: Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
